Stubbornness runs in the family

Is it a Lee trait or a Griffith trait? I believe it must be a little of both. My mother was the most stubborn woman I have ever met…the kind that would cut off her nose to spite her face. She came from Southwestern Virginia “hill-billy” stock. My dad was born in Tennessee but my grandparents were from Indiana and Arkansas. I really don’t know their background other than my Great Grandmother Lee was Irish, according to census records. The Chance/Davis side is a little fuzzy. Long story about the last name of my grandma Virdie (Verdie) Chance/Davis. Depends on where you look and what you read as to what her maiden name was. I could make up a good back story, but I will save that for a later date.

My Grandmother, Mary (Mollie) Ball Griffith and unknown child (?)
