I have had some new “helpers” aiding me in my processing and listing Ebay items for sale.
Princess Katherine Elizabeth (Katy Pumpkin), Prince John Alexander Louie (Jack) and Princess Charlotte Anne (Charlie). And yes, they act like royalty and expect to be treated as such.
Katy is a foundling, dumped in my BFF’s yard about 4 years ago. She was barely weaned and had to be bottled fed and nurtured back to health (she had severe psoriasis on her feet and had to be bathed with medicated soap). I would say by the looks of her, she is quite healthy now. She is a beautiful gray tabby with asymmetrical white markings on her feet and face.
Charlie, also a foundling, somewhat camera shy – thus the photo of her backside only while she is asleep. She has a beautiful brownish tan undercoat, which is unusual for a gray tabby. She is by far the largest of all three, making me wonder if there isn’t some Maine Coon blood coursing through her veins.
Jack, rescued from the freeway underpass, is our baby. He is a solid black, lean, mean, bug hunting machine. A very unlucky skink got in the house recently. The poor creature was hunted relentlessly, having his tail snatched off before he was eventually apprehended a few days later. Jack is quite spoiled, of course, but paradoxically the most mellow fellow you would ever want to me. He can be quite needy at times and likes to lie on my chest while I am at the computer–trying to list Ebay items. He wakes me up every morning by nudging my arm with his nose; demanding his breakfast. Sometimes his internal clock is set too fast and that time can be 4 a.m. BTW, I do NOT get up at that time no matter how persistent he becomes (thanks to a handy water bottle kept by my bed). I love him, but there are limits to my tolerance.
All three seem to “hate” each other and are all most jealous of any attention that is paid to another in their stead. When I or my husband are not watching, they can covertly be seen grooming one another’s head.
The most intriguing fact about these “pets” is that they technically not mine. They are my daughter’s “children”. Unfortunately, she works full time and goes to school part time, so by default, I am the babies primary care giver. But, I do not mind; I am generously rewarded daily with purrs, snuggles and the occasional ‘kiss’.
So now you understand why my Ebay store is “slow” growing. If I didn’t have all this extra help, I don’t know how successful I would be.
